Sarah has far exceeded my expectations. Its obvious she is an extremely talented violinist- having said that she is definitely patient with my beginner progress and appropriately takes the next steps depending on where my skill level has reached. She has a wealth of knowledge, always explains the lesson thoroughly, and makes sure I understand what she taught during the lesson.

My daughter just had her first lesson with Sarah. Sarah was fantastic!!! She taught my daughter, who is 5 years old, on her age level. She taught my daughter while on her knees so they can have good eye contact with each other. She sang with her and taught her songs to help her remember the numbers for her fingers and sentence to help my daughter remember the letter names of the strings. My daughter really enjoyed her, and said that she can't wait for her to come back! Sarah's curriculum is planned well in advance and well thought out. She teaches her material very thoroughly and makes sure her student knows it well. In addition, she teaches it the right way without skipping steps for example she is currently working on strengthening my daughters fingers, through teaching how to play songs using fingers before she will advance.

Sarah has started teaching my 10-year old daughter, who has minimal experience with the violin. Sarah shows a mix of enthusiasm for the violin and patience with new students. It is also clear that she knows the instrument and how to teach and explain things to children in a way that engages them.
